White Data Cabling

What is Data Cabling?

Stop being frustrated with regular network dropouts, fix your cabling

Your data cabling is probably overlooked and underappreciated. However, it is such an important part of your IT systems. It enables the connection of all your devices; computers, printers, Wi-Fi, Phones, CCTV and many more.

These cables connect you and your team to your guests.

The cables themselves are made of either copper or fibre optics. Which you use and where depends on a few factors but generally copper is used to connect devices such as PCs and Phones and fibre cables are used to connect your network equipment.

Why do we need Data Cabling?

We get asked this question often, it is normally followed up with ‘can’t we run everything on Wi-Fi?’

Wi-Fi is amazing when done right, however, you CANNOT beat a physical cable for reliability and security (although security is up for debate assuming your Wi-Fi has been set-up properly). Wi-Fi should be your back-up should a cable fail not the other way around.

  • Stop losing time and money
  • Stop being embarrassed waiting for you systems to load
  • 25 years warranty

Can’t anyone do it?

Nope. Data Cabling comes in different grades starting with Cat5e then Cat6 and Cat6A for copper, fibre is the same OM3, OM4, OS1 and OS2. Which you choose depends on the use case, current industry standards state the minimum standard for copper cables in a commercial environment is Cat6. These cables, though reliable, when installed correctly are prone to issue if damaged during installation, all should be tested before a job is signed off as completed.

If your installer cannot tell you what issues to watch out for they aren’t a true installer, their cables may ‘work’ for a time but they will eventually fail or not be able to cope with fast speeds and cause you more problems years down the road when ceilings and floors are sealed and rerunning these cables are 10x harder.
